Leaving Home/Finding Home tells the stories of five children who migrate for different reasons: poor living conditions, political unrest, natural disaster, seeking economic security and civil war. As readers connect with Deronda, Janar, Michelle, Pablo and Lumiere, students will be encouraged to know and understand who their neighbors are, appreciate the diversity in their communities, and be tolerant and accepting of neighbors who are of a different race, religion or culture. This book and teaching guide were published by the United Methodist Women's Division.
