PRISCILLA AND THE HOLLYHOCKS was one of five picture books chosen for Massbooks of the Year Children's/Young Adult Literature: the Massachusetts Book Awards recommended reading list.

PRISCILLA AND THE HOLLYHOCKS was named one of Bank Street College's
2008 Best Children's Books of the Year.

PRISCILLA AND THE HOLLYHOCKS has been named a National Council of Social Studies
"Notable Trade Book for Young People" and will appear on their list for 2009.
"The selection committee looks for books that emphasize human relations, represent a diversity of groups and are sensitive to a broad range of cultural experiences, present an original theme or a fresh slant on a traditional topic, are easily readable and of high literary quality, and have a pleasing format and, when appropriate, illustrations that enrich the text."
