There are many ways to obtain funding for an author's visit and/or writing workshop. A school PTO or enrichment council may offer funding, or a local business may want to contribute to a special event. Your school or district may have grants for which you can apply. Here are some other ways you might bring an author to your classroom or school:

          K-12 GRANTS FOR SCHOOLS

DONORS CHOOSE

 ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT GRANTS

          FUND FOR TEACHERS
          NEA FOUNDATION

IMMIGRATION STUDY GRANTS (perfect for SHY MAMA'S HALLOWEEN)
          ALA GRANTS
          WELLS FARGO GRANTS

BOOK SALES: Most publishers offer discounts to schools who host authors, and by selling books to students/families for more than the discounted price, you can pay for the visiting author's presentations and/or workshops.
